Cervical cancer is caused by a virus. Now you can prevent it by getting vaccinated.

Do you practice safe sex?

Condoms are a sensible precaution to take to help reduce the risk of infection with HPV. However, they may not fully protect you [4] [6] [10] . This is because the skin immediately around the genital area can also carry the virus and so skin to skin genital contact is all that might be needed to transfer the virus.

However, condoms should always be used – as they can help to reduce the risk of HPV infection and also protect you against a range of sexually transmitted infections.
