Cervical cancer is caused by a virus. Now you can prevent it by getting vaccinated.

Do you smoke?

Everybody knows that smoking increases the risk of lung cancer. But did you know that smoking can also increase your risk of developing cervical cancer [11]. This is thought to be because the effects of smoking can suppress your body’s immune system - making it harder for you to fight off possible infections.

Stopping smoking can make a big difference to your sexual health and your health overall.

Your doctor, nurse or pharmacist can advise you on the help available if you want to stop smoking.
